• Uploaded foot 1.28.0-1 to unstable
• Uploaded swayimg 5.6-1 and 5.7-1 to unstable
• Uploaded wdisplays 1.3.0-1 to unstable
• Orphaned usbguard with version 1.1.4+ds-5 and usbguard-notifier with version 0.1.0-4

The orphaning of usbguard and usbguard-notifier is because I don’t use those packages anymore. I rather spend my time on FOSS projects in areas I get something out of. This is also due to a growing frustration with the Debian community. The discussions on the mailing lists in the recent months lacked any sense of social etiquette. The delusional conviction that certain tools improve the work environment for EVERYONE took on religious overtones.

This is all the more troubling now that even central infrastructure is being drawn into this forced “blessing.” And it seems there is absolutely no awareness here of the boundary violations that are being normalized. Reminds me a bit of christian missionaries.

DH Related Work

In the APIS project I finally merged the search app I wrote a couple of months ago. Based on the proof of concept for the HTMX autocomplete, I implemented an autocomplete that uses the search app for the results, therefore allowing to list search results of multiple content types. I released 0.68, 0.69, 0.70, 0.71 and 0.72 of the APIS framework. The 0.68 release changed the way we list the Django content types, leading to less database hits. In the 0.71 release I refactored the detail & edit views for generic models.

I was torn about whether I should go to this years congress, but in the end I decided to go again. I guess it will be something about the 20th time I’m attending.
